Trainer Phil Kirby is now excited about seeing his two stable stars Best Ville Ben along with Lady Buttons kick off their campaigns on bet365 Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby.
Top Ville Ben is a dual winner over fences at the West Yorkshire circuit and is being targeted in the Charlie Hall Chase itself, using rounded off his novice campaign with an fantastic effort to finish third behind Topofthegame and Lostintranslation in Aintree.
The admirable Lady Buttons has won 12 races for Kirby and will be set to bid for a fourth victory in Wetherby from the OLBG.com Mares’ Hurdle – a race she won last season and finished second in behind La Bague Au Roi at 2017.
Kirby told Sky Sports Racing:“They are both doing plenty of cantering. No work has been done by them however, but they would not be a thousand miles away. They look well and theyboth’ll be aimed in the Charlie Hall meeting.
„Top Ville Ben will run at the Charlie Hall and Lady Buttons will won in the Future race she won this past year. Everything has gone perfectly to plan so far, we’ve just got to keep it that way.
„Buttons can do a very similar point to continue season – she’ll start off in Wetherby, then perhaps visit Newbury and after that go to Doncaster for those Listed races along with the significant prize-money. Where we end up at the close of the season we’ll see.
„For Top Ville, the plan was to visit the Charlie Hall to begin with. We are going to see how he gets , but if he is aggressive, he can always head to Newbury for your Hennessy (Ladbrokes Trophy).“
