The Primetime Emmy Awards, occurring every September, are a party of quality television programming across the world. The service, closely followed by TV fanatics, provides a stage upon which actors are recognised for their work from the previous calendar year. Awards ceremony gambling is as popular as ever, and the 2018 edition of the Emmys, hosted by Colin Jost and Michael Che of Saturday Night Live, is going to be a hot topic at top internet specials bookmakers.
It is not easy to discern how this year’s winners will probably fall. Unlike the Oscars, which honours film, the Emmys often has winners on account of the cyclical, season-based character of TV shows. Some shows which were formerly Emmy staples like Modern Family have been swept aside to allow for a new class to enter, but there are a number of old favourites, like Game of Thrones, re-entering the market.
It has often been said that the easiest way to win an Emmy would be to get an Emmy, but will that sentiment ring true in 2018?
Let us take a peek at the Emmys betting odds for each respective significant category, given by Betway.
Outstanding Comedy Series:
Atlanta – 4/7
The Marvelous Mrs Maisel – 5/4
Barry – 14/1
GLOW – 33/1
Black-ish – 33/1
Curb Your Enthusiasm – 33/1
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt – 33/1
Silicon Valley – 50/1
Our Tip: It’s Tough to see Atlanta not carrying home the Emmy for Best Comedy. Season Two of Donald Glover’s hit series was excellent, and other TV comedies in 2018 paled in comparison. The exclusion of Veep and Modern Family this season will surely help Atlanta’s chances and although short, the 4/7 recorded at Betway to get Atlanta to take home the bacon could prove rewarding at higher bets.
